Organised by Mysuru Yogic Science Trust and Skyway Tourism Education Trust, the Mysore Yoga Festival will be held from September 21-24, 2016, in Karnataka, India.

After the World Cultural Festival by The Art of Living and the annual International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh in March, Mysore brings another opportunity for the Yoga lovers and those who are keen to learn the practice. Mysuru Yogic Science Trust and Skyway Tourism Education Trust are organising a four day International Yoga Festival from September 21-24, 2016, in Mysore, Karnataka to provide a platform to the researchers on the scientific aspects of yoga and its practice.

The festival is a golden opportunity for the people to gather together and learn Yoga. Known experts on yoga like Sri Sri Ravishankar, Sri Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev, Baba Ramdev and Sri Sri Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda are expected to be present at the event. Apart from this, a conference about yoga and spirituality, yoga and physical health, yoga and mental health, yoga and social health and yoga and Ayurveda will be held. There will be practical yoga sessions in the morning and evening followed by cultural shows.

According to the Mysore based Mysuru Yogic Science Trust and Skyway Tourism Education Trust, the hill city is the yoga capital of India as it is home to numerous yoga schools and research centers. Nearly 200 yoga schools are operational in Mysore that offer classes to both Indian and foreign nationals every day. Yoga is not just limited to physical exercises but also covers spirituality, health and wellness of people.

“Mismatch between technology and humans may be a problem in future. Yoga can help evolve humans and bridge that gap,” said the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Upon registration for INR 20,000, entry to the four day event along with the cultural show, yoga meals, shuttle transport services from the official hotels to the venue and a yoga kit with yoga mat and a memento would be provided.

Since the introduction of the International Yoga Day in 2014, thanks to PM Modi, the awareness and practice of yoga and meditation has increased globally.
