In this issue of Colours of India, Media India Group takes you to Udaipur in Rajasthan, to visit Bagore Ki Haveli and its splendid Mewari architecture famous for its fine mirror work. We then go to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, to celebrate the grand Navratri Festival and interview the state tourism board’s principal secretary S J Haider on his strategies to boost the local economy through a diversified and sustainable tourism. The next stop is Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, where we have a tete-a-tete with French musician Emmanuel Simon. An ardent student of Bengali percussions, notably of Tabla, for many years, he will make you experience the true vibe and richness of World Music. We conclude our journey at the picturesque Ziro valley in Arunachal Pradesh at the north-eastern tip of India, where the Ziro Festival of Music was recently held. It witnessed a delightful participation of music-lovers, nature-aficionados and travellers from around the globe.
