The Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, presents a ten-day exhibition in the national capital, New Delhi, under its National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), or Aajeevika. This is an apt platform for the rural producers to exhibit and sell their products, and for the city dwellers to reacquaint themselves with the traditional products of the various Indian states. The Mela, thus, offers a lot, from wooden art to hand-spun saris, to even traditional miniatures paintings, and also organic dried fruits and spices, catering to a wide audience of varying disposable incomes and tastes. The exhibition is being held on April 14-23, at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

At the Mela, R Vimala, CEO of the Maharashtra Rural Livelihood Mission, which works under the NRLM, talks to MIG TV about the initiative, its reach and future plans.
