In its effort to make world’s first unified vertical economy, XTI Aerospace, the largest drone distributor and service provider in the United States, has announced the acquisition of Drone Nerds.

In a press statement, XTI Aerospace says that Drone Nerds brings more than USD 100 million in annual revenue, 10 consecutive years of profitability and the nation’s most extensive enterprise UAV dealer and service network under the XTI umbrella.

It adds that the strategic move expands XTI’s reach from purely unmanned skyways to the passenger cabin, accelerating the company’s TriFan 600 programme and its broader vision for vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. By bridging proven drone technology with full-size vertical mobility, XTI says the acquisition creates a direct link between the unmanned flight sector and next-generation manned aviation, enabling faster scaling of technologies that have already demonstrated commercial viability in the drone market.

The statement adds the integration is positioned to lay the groundwork for a broader vertical economy, combining UAV systems with advanced materials, mesh intelligence, and physical AI to enable future solutions across commercial, defence, logistics and emergency-response sectors.
