Christmas is the best time to be with family, friends and relatives. Delhi celebrated Christmas with full zeal as the capital looked stunningly bright with major streets and roundabouts filled with people celebrating the festival. Media India Group captured the spirit across Delhi & NCR.

‘Come and jingle’ is the slogan for the month of December, where people soak up in the festive spirit. December is the time to rejoice, enjoy, travel and shop- all together to make it a memorable affair and Delhiites (residents of Delhi) celebrated Christmas braving the chilly weather.  Delhi being the national capital exhibited the colours of joy and happiness with the much awaited festival of the year – Christmas!

The first glimpse of the festival comes with the stalls selling Christmas decorations; most of the confectioneries in town sell Christmas cakes and variety of eatables. Markets are tightly packed and decked up and people love to buy decorative items for the festival and the best local venues to find the plethora of decorative items are Sadar Bazaar or Khan Market, there are rows of shops along the streets with every kind of colourful decorative items.

A visit to the oldest and most popular church – Sacred Heart Cathedral

Sacred Heart Cathedral is a heritage monument where people gathered on Christmas Eve to seek blessings. The church was decked up with twinkling lights and extravagantly decorated Christmas trees. Every year special arrangements are made -big screens are placed on the premises where everyone can watch the proceedings or any activity that takes place in the church. A huge crowd gathered at the church to pray and light the candles.
