Ras Al Khaimah an authentic destination, is a hidden gem in the United Arab Emirates known for its golden beaches, mysterious destinations and extravagant beachfront hotels and resorts.
With traces of historical and cultural significance, Ras Al Khaimah is abuzz with sites and destinations for tourists with a penchant for mystery. Take, for instance, Al Jazirah Al Hamra, the living ghost town of Ras Al Khaimah! From a distance, they are nothing but some abandoned Arabian village houses. The believed-to-be haunted town was home to nearly 200 fishing people from three tribes but now, it bears a deserted look.
Located to the south of the city of Ras al-Khaimah, the town was originally home to three tribes and ruled by the Al-Zaab tribe, which was rehoused in Abu Dhabi following a dispute with the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Some believed that it was the dispute that drove people away, as the houses look like they were abandoned in a hurry, but no one knows the reason for sure.
Although, little is known about this ghost town, tourists from all over the globe flock here to witness the rugged looks of a seemingly haunted destination that gained celebrity status when Brangelina was shooting for War Machine. We cannot help but wonder whether Brad (Pitt) and Angelina (Jolie) noticed any paranormal activities while shooting for the film. Spooky!
