IHG signs deal for new Holiday Inn Express in Siliguri

100-room airport hotel to open in 2028

IHG Hotels & Resorts will develop a 100-room Holiday Inn Express near Bagdogra Airport in Siliguri by 2028 under a new agreement, expanding its operations and traveller reach in Eastern India.

Leading hospitality group, IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with DC Constructions, the construction arm of Urban Oasis Hospitality, for the development of Holiday Inn Express Siliguri Bagdogra Airport.

In a press statement, IHG says that the 100-room greenfield hotel is targetted for completion in 2028. The agreement strengthens IHG’s footprint in Eastern India and supports the expansion of its select-service portfolio along the region’s key travel corridors.

The statement adds that the upcoming property will be situated near Bagdogra International Airport, positioning it to serve business and transit travellers passing through Siliguri.

IHG says that the new hotel will reflect the brand’s Generation 5 design, which integrates modern workspaces and guest-focussed layouts. With this addition, IHG’s Holiday Inn Express portfolio in India will comprise 17 operational hotels and 21 more under development.
