London has always remained in the thick of things as far as the New Year’s Eve is concerned. Football, fireworks and fun by the banks of River Thames were quite dramatic this time. A concert by singer Robbie Williams was also one of the highlights among the Indians settled in the UK as the British capital celebrated the New Year according to the time zones of more than 20 countries separated by an hour or 30 minutes.

While most of the cities celebrated the New Year in their usual aplomb, Dubai was more like a cosmopolitan city blending the happiness of the world in the unique proportion. However, what Indian travellers expressed the most excitement about were the light streaks erupting above and around the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai. A true spectacle to witness while bidding 2016 a goodbye and embracing 2017.
