From Kashmiri Pashmina shawls and Banarasi Silk sarees to the beautifully swaying dupattas from Gujarat with heavy mirror-work, each Indian state has a unique attire of its own. Celebrating the diversity and giving a platform to the talented workers making these exquisite apparels, Ministry of textiles and National Handloom Development Corporation had organised the National Handloom Expo in Delhi Haat. The exhibition cum sale focussed primarily on silk, cotton and woollen fabrics. Tribes India, an organisation working for the promotion and welfare of Indian tribes, has also put on exhibit fabrics intricately crafted by tribes from various states. Handmade carpets, wall hangings as well as footwears were also available at the exhibition. The exhibition went on till 31st December.
