Hard Rock International terminates agreement with JSM Corporation in India

Hard Rock International has formally terminated its agreements with JSM Corporation

Hard Rock International, which owns Hard Rock Cafés and Hard Rock shops worldwide, has terminated its agreement with JSM Corporation which managed almost all Hard Rock establishments in India, except Goa. The American company blames the termination on repeated failures by JSM to meet contractual and brand standards making the partnership untenable. As a result all Hard Rock establishments in India, except in Goa, will shut down.

Hard Rock International, a hospitality and entertainment firm based in Florida, United States, says it has formally terminated its agreements with JSM Corporation, an Indian hospitality company, and its affiliates, which granted them the rights to operate all Hard Rock Cafes and Rock Shops within India. 

In a press statement, Hard Rock International says that the decision underscores its commitment to maintaining consistent brand standards, protecting its intellectual property and delivering the best experience to its global audience. It also highlights the company’s policy of holding partners accountable for contractual obligations and operational excellence.

The statement adds that these agreements, originally established to expand the Hard Rock brand in India, included both restaurant operations and merchandise retail under license from Hard Rock International. 

It says that after a careful review and in accordance with the provisions of the contracts, Hard Rock International has exercised its right to end the relationship with JSM Corporation and associated companies, effective immediately.

The statement adds that Hard Rock Hotel in Goa will continue to operate independently and is not connected to the terminated agreements or the operator JSM Corporation. The hotel’s ownership and management are separate and it will remain fully operational without any impact from this change.
