Rohit Dar will oversee its business development, growth plans and operational performance across South Asia
Amid continuing expansion in South Asia, Ascott, a Singapore-based hospitality business, which is a wholly-owned lodging business unit of CapitaLand Investment (CLI), has appointed Rohit Dar as Vice President and Head of the region to oversee operations, growth strategy, and market development.
In a press statement, Ascott says that in his new role, Dar will oversee its business development, growth plans and operational performance across South Asia, while managing partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
The statement adds that Dar brings over three decades of experience in the hospitality sector. Before joining Ascott, he was Senior Regional Director of Operations at Hilton India, where he managed a multi-brand portfolio across South India and focussed on business growth and owner relations.

He has also held general manager roles with Marriott International, including at the Westin Hyderabad Mindspace and Jaipur Marriott Hotel. He began his career with the Oberoi Group, where he worked in hotel and corporate roles for 18 years.
Ascott says that the appointment comes as the company expands its presence in South Asia. The group operates brands including Ascott, Somerset, Citadines, Oakwood and lyf.
In India, Ascott currently operates 985 keys across seven properties in six cities, with more than 5,000 keys in the development pipeline.
The company said it is expanding into both major gateway cities and smaller urban markets as part of its regional growth strategy.
