Driven by robust growth across its existing parks, the continued scale-up of its Chennai park and contributions from its premium waterside resort, the Isle, Wonderla Holidays, an operator of themeparks across India, has reported its strongest-ever first-quarter performance, with consolidated total income rising 41 pc year-on-year in Q1 FY27.
In a press statement, the company says that its consolidated total income for Q1 FY27 rose to INR 2.52 billion, up 41 pc from INR 1.79 billion in the corresponding quarter last year. It adds that Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 39 pc to INR 1.21 billion, while Profit After Tax (PAT) grew by 38 pc to INR 728 million. EBITDA margin stood at 48 pc, compared to 49 pc a year ago, while PAT margin remained unchanged at 29 pc.
Wonderla says that it recorded footfall of around 1.23 million during the quarter, a growth of 33 pc year-on-year. Park-wise, Bengaluru welcomed 343,000 visitors, Hyderabad 290,000, Kochi 250,000, Chennai 242,000 and Bhubaneswar 100,000.
The company says that its existing parks in Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar delivered revenue growth of about 15 pc year-on-year, supported by 7 pc growth in footfalls and 8 pc growth in average revenue per user (ARPU). It adds that the Chennai park, in its first year of operations, contributed INR 450 million in revenue from 242,000 visitors.
The statement adds that the strong quarterly performance reflects robust sales and marketing initiatives to stimulate demand, alongside operational excellence aimed at delivering world-class guest experiences across its destinations.
