As part of its flagship programme, FitToFly, and to promote fitness and healthy lifestyle, IndiGo Airlines has launched fully equipped gyms for police personnel in Dimapur, Chennai and Jaipur. FitToFly is an ongoing initiative under IndiGoReach, the company’s CSR programme.

With an endeavour to infuse fitness belief and inspire the police personnel to adopt a more physically active lifestyle, IndiGo has launched fully equipped gyms for the police officials in Jaipur, Chennai and Dimapur.

The first gym was launched at Sanganer police station, near Jaipur International Airport, then within the office premise of the local police stations in Chennai and Dimapur.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, PSC Kalyan said, “I am confident that this facility will help our forces pursue their fitness goals and adopt a more physically active lifestyle.”

Appreciating the efforts of IndiGo, S Bokato Sema, Officer-In-Charge, Diphupar police station said, “We are grateful to the IndiGo leadership for taking an initiative such as this for police personnel. To have a gym facility within the office premise will push us to exercise and take small steps towards a healthy lifestyle. This is not only encouraging, but is much needed for all to be a part of this transformational process.”

Speaking at the occasion, Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole-time Director, IndiGo said, “We are absolutely delighted to see our FitToFly programme being extended through a collaborative effort. We last week inaugurated a gym for Gurugram police personnel, and it was encouraging to see the support we received from the Commissioner of Gurugram Police. At IndiGo, we feel for our police force that works day and night to provide us the security we need. Setting up gyms for them is an important move to encourage them to start making choices to live a healthier life by choosing to be holistically fit.”

Ghosh further added, “For us at IndiGo, being healthy is not just about physical fitness, but, it’s also about creating fitness into everything we do – be it our operations, customer relations or financial stability of the firm. We believe, it starts with being fit as individuals.  With the launch of this gym in Dimapur, we hope to stimulate a healthy lifestyle amongst our police personnel and take this FitToFly initiative to a newer level.”

The FitToFly gyms will be fully equipped with multi-purpose machines, cross trainers, treadmills, bench press and other facilities.
