IWIA Grand Mahotsav highlights India’s vision to become the Wedding Capital of the World (Photos: India and You)
To capitalise on India’s potential for destination weddings, the Indian Wedding Industry Association (IWIA), a newly-formed industry body, organised the first-ever IWIA Grand Mahotsav 2026 in Gurugram, bringing together over 2,000 stakeholders from the wedding, hospitality, tourism and events sectors to strengthen industry collaboration and promote India as the ‘Wedding Capital of the World’.
In a press statement, IWIA says that the event witnessed participation from renowned entrepreneurs, luxury hospitality brands, wedding planners, destination specialists, decor experts, artists and policymakers, making it one of the country’s largest celebrations dedicated to the wedding and celebrations industry.

According to the statement together, the leadership reaffirmed IWIA’s commitment to creating a unified, progressive and globally recognised platform that promotes collaboration, innovation, business growth and excellence across India’s rapidly expanding wedding and celebrations industry.

IWIA adds that the event was graced by Suman Billa, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, along with Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The statement adds that the collaboration between Incredible India and IWIA marks the beginning of a transformative journey to position India as the Wedding Capital of the World. He also acknowledged the support of industry partners who invested not only in the event but also in a shared vision for the future of India’s wedding and celebrations industry.

The statement adds that the evening concluded with performances by Mika Singh, Millind Gaba, Ashok Masti and Kaptaan Laadi, hosted by MC Priyanka Bhalla Dua, making IWIA Grand Mahotsav 2026 a historic celebration for India’s wedding and celebrations industry.
