Record Chinese participation at WDS 2026 in Riyadh
With participation from over 100 Chinese defence companies, the 2026 World Defense Show (WDS) at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, is set to become a landmark event from February 8-12, 2026. This record-breaking involvement underscores the growing global appeal of WDS, which will spotlight pioneering advancements and showcase the future of defence technology, solidifying its role as a key international defence platform.
According to press statement, WDS has expanded its exhibition space by 54 pc since 2022, more than doubling in size by 2026. It adds that over 50 pc of the floor space for WDS 2026 is already sold, with 88 pc of the China pavilion secured, making it the second-largest presence after Saudi Arabia.
It further adds that senior representatives of WDS are attending the event to give potential exhibitors the opportunity to learn more about WDS 2026 and secure their space, which is filling up quickly.
The statement adds that at WDS 2024, China had a noteworthy presence with one of the largest pavilions, comprising 9 pc of the overall space.
It adds that the companies showcased innovative technologies, highlighting their cutting-edge capabilities across various defence industry sectors.
It further adds that WDS is participating in the ongoing 15th Airshow China at booth H5C19, where visitors can explore popular features like the ‘Meet the KSA Government’ programme and enhanced WDS Connect. This contrasts with the upcoming WDS 2026, where new themes, signature features, and additional networking opportunities will be unveiled in the months ahead.
“The significant interest and commitment from Chinese exhibitors is a testament to the prominence WDS holds in the global defense space. Our goal is to bring together global and local stakeholders to advance networking opportunities, strengthen global knowledge-sharing, and shape the future of defense technology,” says Andrew Pearcey, Chief Executive Officer, World Show.
