India International Travel Mart (IITM) Ahmedabad, one of the first major travel events of the year in western India, kicked off today in Ahmedabad in Gujarat, with a strong participation from domestic tourism stakeholders and rising interest from international destinations.

Featuring over 100 exhibitors from more than 15 Indian states and 10 international destinations and showcasing a wide range of travel offerings including leisure, adventure, culture, wellness, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE), and experiential tourism, the India International Travel Mart (IITM) Ahmedabad has opened today.

In a press statement, the organisers of IITM say that the event serves as a major networking and business platform, allowing travel professionals to explore partnerships, collaborations and business growth opportunities across both domestic and international markets.

It adds the two-day Business to Business (B2B) exhibition, running from March 20-21, provides a focussed platform for tourism boards, travel operators, hoteliers and service providers to engage with travel trade professionals from Gujarat and neighbouring states.

More than 15 Indian states present their destinations, travel services and tourism experiences to the growing travel trade community

According to the statement Tourism Malaysia has been named partner country for this year, showcasing its range of leisure, cultural, adventure and luxury offerings. Indian states including Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are also actively promoting their destinations, alongside international participants from Malaysia, Vietnam, Bali, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan.

The organisers note a strong focus on sustainable and responsible tourism at the event, highlighting eco-friendly initiatives, community engagement projects and conservation efforts aimed at preserving India’s cultural and natural heritage.

Through the India International Travel Mart, our objective is to create an effective networking and business platform where tourism stakeholders from across the world can engage directly with the travel trade in this region. The organisers say that this two-day exhibition will feature a variety of networking opportunities and business interactions designed to facilitate collaboration between exhibitors and buyers. Participants can also gain insights into new tourism products, travel trends and destination offerings that are shaping travel decisions among Indian consumers. 

With strong participation from domestic and international stakeholders, IITM Ahmedabad is set to strengthen industry linkages while opening new avenues for tourism partnerships and business growth.

The statement further adds the special focus at this edition includes Delhi Tourism’s Heritage Walks, aimed at promoting experiential and night tourism while encouraging longer stays.
