IndiGo continues to enhance its connectivity
With an aim to strengthen its network, IndiGo announced its two new destinations – Doha and Mangalore. Adding new destinations to its route, IndiGo aims to extend its hassle-free service to new and existing customers.
IndiGo, India’s low-cost carrier, continuing to strengthen its network, has announced Doha and Mangalore as its new destinations.
With Doha as a new destination, IndiGo is all set to enhance connectivity between India and the Gulf region, where it flies to Dubai, Muscat and Sharjah already. Doha will be its 7th international and 46th overall destination. The introduction of direct flights connecting Doha to New Delhi and Mumbai will open more convenient travel options for business and leisure travellers, including the Indian expatriates based in the Middle-East.
Commenting on the new flight launch, Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo said, “Being an economic and cultural hub of Qatar, Doha attracts a lot of business and leisure tourists. Adding Doha on our network is in line with our growth strategy and more so for the Middle-East. IndiGo has established itself as a preferred carrier on India-Gulf routes. We are hopeful that this daily service would also prove equally popular with our flyers.”
Effective May 1, IndiGo will operate daily non-stop flights from Mangalore to Bengaluru and Mumbai at affordable fares. These new services will further consolidate IndiGo’s position as the fastest growing airline in India, with its 907 daily flights connecting 44 destinations across the nation.
Ghosh stated, “Mangalore, an important seaport and a major commercial centre in Karnataka with the state’s second busiest airport, is fast gaining prominence as a business hub and a tourist gateway. We have been getting requests to connect the city of Mangalore for years. I am now delighted to announce the launch of IndiGo flights from Mangalore. With the inaugural flights attractively priced at INR 1,499 onwards, we are hopeful that these routes will prove to be immensely popular amongst our flyers.”
He further added, “Adding new flights and frequencies on our network is aligned with our commitment to expand affordable air travel in India. The new flights not only strengthen domestic network but also help us better serve increased demand in growing markets.”
From strengthening network in the Middle-East to launching an Arabic-website, IndiGo has been at the forefront of adding new features to its services, keeping in mind the cultural sensitivities and customers’ requirements. With the increased flow of tourists and business traffic on the India-Gulf route, IndiGo recently launched two new non-stop daily flights to Sharjah and an additional flight to Muscat in a bid to consolidate its position in the Middle-Eastern market.
