4th Skydiving Festival to begin in Ujjain from November 9
After three successful years, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is all set to organise the fourth edition of its Skydiving Festival in Ujjain starting November 9, 2024. The festival is an attempt of the tourism board to boost the standing of Madhya Pradesh as a premier adventure destination.
In a press statement, the tourism board says that visitors will gain a thrilling opportunity to jump from a height of 3,000 m and witness the magnificent view of the spiritual city of Ujjain. The festival is a three-month extravaganza commencing on November 9 until February 9, 2025.
The statement also adds that this year, the state expects over 1,000 participants who will experience the thrill of flying in the sky at the Datana airstrip in Ujjain. Skydiving operations will be conducted by Sky-high India, a company certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the United States Parachute Association (USPA) and that highly trained skydivers will assist participants in ensuring a safe and thrilling experience.
Dharmendra Bhav Singh Lodhi, Minister, Culture, Tourism and Religious Trusts and Endowments, said that various events and activities are being organised under the guidance of Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister, Madhya Pradesh to make the state a prominent tourist destination. As part of this initiative, Ujjain will be transformed into an adventure tourism hub with the launch of the Skydiving Festival.
Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, added that considering the success of the previous three editions and the enthusiastic response from tourists, the fourth edition of the Skydiving Festival will be held in Ujjain for three months. Adventure enthusiasts will be able to experience the thrill of flying in the sky at the Datana airstrip in Ujjain. The timings for skydiving are from 08:00 to 17:00 and bookings can be done on the website of the event.
