Air India and Air India Express have announced the introduction of 166 additional weekly flights to and from Patna to cater to the increased travel demand during the festive season around Diwali and Chhath Puja.

According to a press statement, between October 15 and November 2, Air India will operate 38 extra flights each on the Delhi-Patna, Mumbai-Patna, and Bengaluru-Patna routes. In addition, from October 22 to November 3, Air India Express will add 26 more flights each between Delhi and Patna and between Bengaluru and Patna.

The statement adds that these additions are in response to the significant rise in passenger numbers during the festive period and are in addition to the current schedules. At present, Air India operates 42 weekly flights to Patna from Delhi and Mumbai, while Air India Express runs 14 weekly flights to the city from Delhi and Bengaluru.

The increased number of flights greatly improves connectivity to Patna, making it more convenient for people travelling to visit family and friends during the celebrations. The services offered by both airlines also provide smooth connections through Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru to various destinations across India, the Middle East and Europe, adds the statement.

Tickets for these additional flights are now available through the official websites and mobile apps of Air India and Air India Express. Bookings can also be made via their customer service centres, airport and city ticket offices, and through authorised travel agents around the world.
