The Chamba Camp Thiskey and Diskit, introduced by the ‘Ultimate Travelling Camp’ in Ladakh, provide a perfect amalgamation between nomadic lifestyle and super-luxury stay.

The glam camps in Thiskey and Diskit is an endeavour under ‘The Ultimate Travelling Camp’ (TUTC), a nomadic mobile super luxury camp aimed at adventure stays in exotic locales. The TUTC has bagged two awards at the PATA Gold Awards 2015. Both the camps are located in the sparsely-populated Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Revellers at the Thiskey camp are welcomed by the Thiskey Monastery echoing the cultural heritage of the region. The camp offers outdoor seating by three water bodies. Each seating area has its own aqua deck with a plethora of dining options and an indoor setting, equipped with fun games to keep the ‘glamper’ (glamorous camper) entertained. The exquisite reception tent is equipped with an in-house library, WiFi zone, a common lobby, doc station for iPods and a boutique selling local handicrafts. The Chamba Camp Thiskey will be operational from May 15, 2017 to October 10, 2017.

I & N Kohlberg from the United States, who stayed at the Thiskey Camp, commented, “Our trip to Ladakh was just amazing. Besides, of course, the beautiful landscapes and spiritual culture, we were extremely pampered and well taken care of by the entire team in the camp. The location of the camp is incredibly beautiful – it has been planned to provide privacy and tranquility to each tent, surrounded with flowers, and the view of the monastery in front of you the minute you wake up. The camp provided skilful planning of trips, understanding our interests. Both driver and guide that were assigned to us were experienced and knowledgeable. The food in the camp was incredibly delicious – the menus changed every day, with a lot of variety to choose from. A special memorable and spiritual experience was the visit of Dalai Lama to the camp and the private lunch with him that we were invited to attend. It was one of our most enjoyable and meaningful trips, much to the contribution of the camp.”

The Chamba Camp Diskit, in the lap of nature is fed by two rivers Nubra and Shyok. Away from the hustle bustle of the city, the camp offers tranquillity to the adventurers ‘glamping’ here.  The campers are treated to exploratory walks and cycling routes, that takes one to witness the  Yak breeding centre, fishery, bird watching, among other things.  The Camp will be operational from June 15, 2017 to September 30, 2017 in Ladakh.  An annual camping adventurer from Bengaluru who stayed at Diskit stated, “Though reaching the camping spot was an overwhelming experience, it was worth the stay citing the beautiful day-to-day activities organised by TUTC. The food and hospitality was top-notch and it was a super comfortable stay. Each of the tents had their own private patios and customised en-suite bathrooms, which was our favourite part of the indoor experience.”
