You have not been to a waterpark unless you have slid inside a giant snake, jumped and came gliding from mountain top and shot cannons out of a roller coaster. You get to experience all of this at Yas Waterworld, the Emirati themed waterpark that gained the title of being the world’s leading waterpark in 2018. This place is a wonderland for kids where they can get into a water war with its 40 rip roaring slides, including Bubble’s Barrel, Rush Rider and Bandit Bomber, the longest suspended roller coaster in the Middle East. Those looking for less action and more relaxed time can watch Cinesplash, a ‘water cinema’ in which the Legend of the Lost Pearl, the theme of the Park is told through an immersive 12- minute movie featuring water and lighting effects.
A visit to Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a must if you are a motor sports freak. Home to the world’s fastest roller coaster, it is the first Ferrari branded theme park and the largest indoor theme park in the world. Voted as Middle East’s Leading Theme Park 2018, it has 37 exhilarating rides and attractions where you can race with the champions, break records, see the most exquisite cars ever made or drive one for yourself! Get a firsthand experience of what it’s like to train like a Ferrari driver, with the Scuderia challenge, or navigate the remote control boats and cars around the waterways of little Italy or change the tyres of a F1 car in a given time, you are bound to have a good time in the Ferrari fueled world.

With two 12 storey hotel towers, one set within the race circuit and another at the Marina, linked together by a monocoque steel and glass bridge and grid shell structure that both cross above and over the Yas Marina Circuit F1 race track, luxury cannot be defined in a better way. Wake up in a fantasy world at the Yas Viceroy Hotel, built half on land and half over water, that gives you gorgeous sunset views and a picture perfect stay. Get a massage at the hotel’s spa, or take a dip in the Gulf on the beach. Tantalise the taste buds with a variety of cuisines from around the world. Try a variety of Middle Eastern dishes like grilled kofta saj (meatballs in flatbread) or mezze dish selection of fattoush (salad of toasted bread, tomatoes, onions and mint leaves). The nightlife at the Skylite Rooftop Lounge offers a perky atmosphere with great views; and not to miss the new Empire at Rush Nightclub, the only club in the world that’s built over an F1 racetrack.
One can also experience luxury shopping at the Yas Mall, with over 400 stores of luxury brands and more affordable brands, 90 restaurants and cafes, amusement parks, a hypermarket and a VOX multiplex cinema with 20 screens.
Try your hand at golf at the Yas Links, ranked as one of the best golf courses outside the USA. Yas Links features a 7,450 yard par 72 course, utilising five teeing grounds per hole, with all 18 equipped with stunning ocean views. Yas is also home to the Yas Marina Circuit, that hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. From watersports to boat charters, from premier fitness facilities to children’s playground and a musical water fountain, there is something for all ages. Get a grip at the Yas Marina Circuit while you are trying a series of activities, including Driver Experiences, Passenger Experiences, Private Driving Tuition programmes and Racing License Courses. If you are not a car person then you can run, walk or cycle at the 5.5 km track that is open on every Tuesday night for exercisers for free.
Take a walk on the Yas beach that is anything but just a stretch of sand with activities like kayaking, sailing, and snorkelling.
