Started in 2003 under a programme called Badhte Kadam (Stepping Forward), Balaknama is a newspaper that voices the issues and hardships faced by street and working children in Delhi. Street children and their lives is in fact the only beat that the independent newspaper covers.

A circuit of Batuni (Verbal) and Likhawat (Writing) reporters from across Delhi work in sync  to gather information for the editorial department of the newspaper that pens the reportage into stories. The newspaper is supported and funded by a Delhi based NGO called CHETNA .

MIG TV spends a day with the members of this unique newspaper to find out more about what it does.
