Kargil Vijay Diwas is remembered for the supreme sacrifice made by brave soldiers of the Indian Army, to uphold and safeguard the integrity of the nation. On July 26, 1999, the Kargil War, also known as the Kargil conflict, formally came to an end, with Indian soldiers successfully recapturing mountain heights from Pakistan.
