In the north eastern state of Meghalaya, some members of the Ri-Bhoi community are organically producing the rare Ryndia silk. Known for its thermal properties, the silk being produced is non-violent as it is being made without killing the worm. The weavers are making the fabric by hand using traditional equipment, making the entire process sustainable. Even accessories such as buttons are being made from bamboo, pine cone or wood , maintaining the ethos for a sustainable product.
