Vaishal Shadangule: Weaving wearable works of art

By | Aug 16, 2021 | New Delhi

Vaishali Shadangule, a Mumbai-based fashion designer who transforms authentic Indian handlooms into wearable works of art, joined the list of rare women designers to have her collections showcased at the Paris Haute Couture Week in July 2021. She is the second Indian designer after Rahul Mishra in 2020 to partake in the festival. The designer hopes to bring Indian craftsmanship in the form of weaving techniques, fabrics and embroideries to the forefront of global fashion, where it has only existed through workshops of Western brands.
