Jammu & Kashmir to host 17th ATOAI Annual Adventure Convention

The event will gather industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss the future of adventure tourism in India and showcase Jammu & Kashmir’s scenic and adventure potential

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), the national  representative body for adventure tour operators in India, has announced that its 17th Annual Adventure Convention will be held in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, from December 17 to 20.

In a press statement, ATOAI says that the convention marks a significant milestone celebrating the revival, resilience, and renaissance of India’s adventure tourism, set against the backdrop of one of the world’s most breath-taking destinations.

ATOAI adds that the event will gather industry leaders and stakeholders to discuss the future of adventure tourism in India and showcase Jammu & Kashmir’s scenic and adventure potential.

It adds that the event will be held in close collaboration with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, will bring together policymakers, experts from across India to deliberate on the theme Indian Adventure Tourism: Safe, Sustainable & Resilient.

According to the statement, the 17th Annual Adventure Convention by ATOAI will focus on reviving adventure travel, enhancing safety and sustainability frameworks, and positioning India as a global leader in responsible adventure tourism.

It adds that set against the stunning backdrop of Kashmir’s snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and tranquil valleys, the event conveys a powerful message that Jammu & Kashmir is open, welcoming, and ready to lead India’s adventure tourism renaissance. The region’s timeless natural beauty is now complemented by world-class infrastructure, renewed safety standards, and community-driven tourism initiatives, creating a harmonious balance between nature, adventure, and progress.

ATOAI adds that the three-day convention will showcase high-impact keynote sessions and panel discussions featuring top voices in adventure travel. Participants will engage in workshops and masterclasses focused on safety, innovation, sustainability, and skill development.

The event will also honour excellence in the sector through awards celebrating best practices and achievements. A key highlight will be an immersive field visit to Pahalgam, demonstrating how eco-sensitive adventure tourism can empower local communities while preserving natural heritage.

The statement adds that the 17th ATOAI Annual Adventure Convention will be organised as a net-zero event, reflecting ATOAI’s commitment to sustainability and eco-friendly tourism practices. The convention leadership team includes Paras Loomba, Convention Chairman, Rauf Tramboo, Yog Chinmoy Dutt, and Arvind Bhardwaj as co-chairs, representing unity and vision across regions.

“Kashmir has always been the crown of Indian adventure tourism. Reviving its legacy means rekindling India’s spirit of responsible exploration, resilience, and unity,” says Loomba.
