Air India to relocate all its domestic flight to and from Ahmedabad to Terminal 2 of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport
In a move that strengthens its presence at one of India’s busiest airports, Air India, a Tata group airline, has announced that all of its 210 weekly domestic flights operating to and from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport will shift from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 from March 29.
In a press statement, Air India says that the relocation is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the airport experience for its passengers. Terminal 2, spread across 49,000 sqm of built-up area, offers a significantly upgraded experience with 52 check-in counters, self-baggage drop kiosks, DigiYatra kiosks, 17 departure immigration counters, 22 arrival immigration counters, eight Fast Track Immigration e-gates at departures and arrivals, and a wide range of retail and Food and Beverages options.

According to the statement beyond passenger-facing facilities, Terminal 2 is designed to improve operational efficiency and passenger flow, providing modern infrastructure and digital services that support smoother travel experiences.
The statement says that Air India has started informing all passengers travelling to or from Ahmedabad about the terminal change through SMS, email and other direct channels. Travellers are advised to verify their terminal details before arriving at the airport to avoid any last-minute issues.
