Blinkit has launched its services inside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport
In a move that could reshape last-minute airport shopping, Blinkit, an instant delivery platform, has launched its services inside Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, marking what is being described as the first instance globally of a quick-commerce platform operating within an airport terminal post-security.
In a press statement, Blinkit says that the service is currently available at Terminal 2 for domestic departures, and is offered in partnership with Adani Airports, which operates the airport. Travellers who have cleared security can now order from a catalogue of over 2,500 products through the Blinkit app, including phone chargers, books, and travel essentials, it says.

The statement adds that unlike conventional airport retail, the delivery model does not rely on vehicles. Instead, Blinkit has deployed a team of on-ground staff who fulfil and deliver orders within the terminal. Deliveries are available across key passenger areas, including boarding gates, lounges, restaurants, and cafés.
Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit announcing the launch, said the initiative is aimed at addressing last-minute needs of travellers. The company has also asked users to update their app to access the feature.
For airports, the development opens up a new layer of retail integration, where digital platforms can operate alongside existing concessionaires. For passengers, it introduces an alternative to browsing multiple outlets under time constraints.
