Mahindra tractor sales fall 23 pc in September

Automotive giant Mahindra & Mahindra Limited’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB), part of Mahindra Group, has reported a 23 pc fall in domestic sales of tractors in September.

The Farm Equipment Business (FEB) of automotive giant Mahindra & Mahindra has reported sale of 50,208 domestic tractors in September, compared with 64,946 units in September 2025, registering a 23 pc year-on-year decline. The business is part of Limited.

In a press statement, Mahindra & Mahindra says that the decline in domestic volumes was primarily due to the shift in the festive season, which commences in October this year compared with September last year. It adds that the comparison was also impacted by a higher base in September 2025, which benefitted from the implementation of the GST rate cut during the period.

The statement adds that the exports for September this year stood at 1,892 units, recording a 62 pc year-on-year growth. Total sales for the month, including domestic sales and exports, stood at 52,100 units, compared with 66,111 units in September 2025, marking a 21 pc decline.

On a cumulative basis, domestic sales during April to September this year stood at 262,872 units, up by 6 pc from 247,336 units during the corresponding period last year. Exports increased 16 pc to 11,196 units, compared with 9,689 units in the same period of 2025. Cumulative total sales stood at 274,068 units, registering a 7 pc growth from 257,025 units a year earlier, says the statement.

“We have sold 50,208 tractors in the domestic market during September 2026. The year-on-year decline in volumes is primarily attributable to the festive season shift, commencing in October this year, as compared with September last year. The comparison is also impacted by a higher base in September 2025, which benefited from the implementation of the GST rate cut during the period. In the exports market, we have sold 1,892 tractors,” says Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra.
