Air India shifts Visakhapatnam flights to new Bhogapuram airport

Air India commences its operations from Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram from today

Air India, a Tata Group airline, has announced that all its flights operating to and from Visakhapatnam will now operate from the new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram, retaining the existing VTZ airport code, effective today, August 17, 2026.

Expanding its operations from Andhra Pradesh, Air India has moved all Visakhapatnam flights to the new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram from today while retaining the VTZ airport code and operating 14 weekly flights to Delhi.

In a press statement Air India says that the airline will continue to operate 14 weekly flights between Bhogapuram and Delhi, offering passengers connectivity to key domestic and international destinations through its hubs.

The new terminal, spread across 77,342 sqm, is equipped with 22 traditional check-in counters, 18 Self Baggage Drop units, advanced passenger screening systems and state-of-the-art baggage-handling facilities.

The terminal also features seven aerobridges, aimed at improving passenger comfort and operational efficiency while ensuring a smoother airport experience.
