Lufthansa Group launches new NDC partner programme in India

Enhancing communication with travel agents and travel technology providers

Through the launch of a dedicated website for New Distribution Capability (NDC) partner programme, German airline Lufthansa aims to provide immediate information and access to the airline’s distribution capability Application Programme Interface (API) solutions in the Indian market.

German airline Lufthansa, recently launched a new website to facilitate travel agencies and travel technology providers in India with its New Distribution Capability (NDC) partner programme.

NDC is a travel industry supported programme, launched by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for the development and market adoption of a new, XML-based data transmission standard. This enhances the capability of communications between airlines and travel agents.

The Lufthansa Group already achieved highest IATA NDC level of certification last year and is continuing investing further in innovative NDC solutions to improve capabilities and offers for its travel agency partners and strengthen its position in the industry.

“We want to provide our local distribution partners with the best possible solutions. The newly launched NDC partner programme and its website is an important tool. A steadily increasing number of travel agencies are already using and benefiting from NDC Smart Offer,” says Wolfgang Will, senior director sales South Asia for Lufthansa Group Airlines. “At the same time, we extend our NDC Smart Offer to Indian customers. Partners using one of the NDC solutions will benefit from an additional price advantage of INR 1.500 to our destinations in Europe,” he adds.

Through the website (www.lhgroupairlines.com/ndc), easy online registration is now available for web-based booking and servicing platform, along with a temporary booking incentive. Travel agencies, corporate customers and travel technology providers in India can now find out about the airline group’s various direct sales interfaces.

The website provides information on services that are beneficial for sales partners and customers, as well as technological and strategic cooperation options. The programme also offers user support for connected sales partners and training programmes. Travel agencies interested in the free web-based NDC solution SPRK can also register on the website and gain access to the booking and service platform.
