Embraer invites applications for software & data science courses
Embraer, the third largest producer of civil aircraft worldwide after Boeing and Airbus, has opened registrations for its 2025 specialisation programme in software and data science (PES) and invited applications from students.
In a press statement, Embraer says that the nine-month course, offered in partnership with the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in Brazil, features online classes and has 30 available spots.
Embraer says that the course curriculum includes theoretical modules and a practical capstone project under the guidance of UFPE and Embraer professionals. Throughout the course, students will be able to train under the mentorship of company employees and participate in activities designed to develop soft skills, complementing their technical and academic training.
Embraer also offers students enrolling for the programme, an initial aid of BRL 3,000 (USD 550), as well as monthly scholarships of BRL 5,000 (USD 910).
“The PES provides a differentiated education where students learn how the concepts covered in class can be applied to solve real problems in the aerospace industry. This is thanks to a strong interaction with professors and Embraer employees,” says Professor Adriano Sarmento, programme coordinator for UFPE.
Amongst the 30 vacancies in the nine-month specialisation, 10 specialists will be trained in Data Science and 20 in Embedded Software. Applicants must be graduates in Exact Sciences from 2019 to 2024, with advanced English skills preferred.
“We have a robust and consistent strategic plan, strongly based on the development of new technologies and efficiency gains. Our optimism regarding the future of the business and the challenges posed by a highly competitive market lead to a growing internal demand for professionals who complete this specialisation. Not surprisingly, the hiring rate of graduates by Embraer exceeds 95 pc,” says Andreza Alberto, Vice President of People, ESG, and Corporate Communications at Embraer.
Embraer says that the applications can be received until November 10 and that candidates will undergo an exam to demonstrate knowledge in algorithms and data structures, probability and statistics and mathematics for computer science, and an interview. The results for the same will be announced in February 2025, it adds.
