French defence and electronics firm Thales has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Garuda Aerospace to drive growth and innovation in India's drone sector.

Aiming to boost innovation and growth in India’s drone sector, French defence and electronics firm Thales has signed a MoU with Garuda Aerospace. This strategic partnership is set to enhance drone technology and integration across various applications in India.

In a press statement, Thales says it will provide expertise in Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) solutions, UAV detection, and system integration while as Garuda will contribute its skills in UAV manufacturing, usage and market expertise in India.

It adds that the MoU aims to provide a platform for strategic collaboration to develop the drone ecosystem in India, transforming the Indian drone landscape.
