The annual New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF), the most happening event for book lovers has begun in the capital. In its 27th edition, the NDWBF is the longest book fair after the Kolkata Book Fair and is a major calendar event for bibliophiles.
The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) that is in its 27th edition this year, has started in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Scheduled for nine days (January 5-13) the book fair houses major publications from across the world to exhibit their literary collections which draws millions of guests, poets, readers to participate and mingle in large groups discussions.
While the theme for 2018, was environmental issues, this time the theme is focused on ‘Book for Readers with Special Needs’. The idea behind the theme is to emphasise on inclusive learning which includes audio, silent tactile and braille books for the specially-able. At the same time it also focuses on their achievements. Organized by National Book Trust, India, the book fair features books from all genres- sports books, fictions, science, religious, a variety of books for children.
The guest of honour for this year is UAE’s third largest emirate Sharjah. Nearly 700 publishers are participating this year in the fair and more than 1300 stalls have been put up.
