Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team, helping hand for people in London

The Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team (S.W.A.T.), which was started by the Sikh community residing in London, runs a S.W.A.T. van in the capital city of England that supplies food and other essentials to homeless people in London.

The Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team was established by the Sikhs in London, who park a S.W.A.T. van in central London that offers food and other necessary items for homeless, poor and the needy people.

A huge crowd gathers in the city to avail the services provided by the Sikhs. Volunteers aid in helping these people by assisting in performing the supplies. It is an inspiriting service, which is free from every type of discrimination – be it because of the caste, colour of skin or religion. Approximately 5,000 free vegetarian meals on weekdays and 10,000 meals on weekends are provided to the poor.

The Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team is a revolutionary charity, which along with providing necessary amenities also focuses on creating awareness, crime diversion, and providing homeless prevention, protection and resources.

The team establishes relationships with the people and educates and supports them to make them feel that they have someone who cares. It is not only a charity supporting homeless people but SWAT aims to bring together the local community and focus on projects which make a difference to people’s lives.

Along with feeding the people, the community also helps in providing clean clothes, comfortable bedding, medical guidance, immediate helps and counselling services to the people.

They are dedicated to end homelessness by delivering support and campaigning for change. There are volunteers who also work to support those who sleep rough and help the homeless to help improve the quality of their lives.

These people validate that humanity still prevails.
