India saw the highest growth in European searches at 14 pc
India emerged as the fastest-growing Asian destination among European travellers according to accommodation search data between April and June 2026 for travel during July and August, says Agoda, a digital travel firm.
In a press statement, Agoda says that India led Asian destinations in search growth for the peak summer travel period, adding that the United Kingdom was the largest European source market driving travel interest to India based on accommodation search volumes, followed by Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Italy.
It adds that while traditional markets maintained high volume, several emerging European markets recorded sharp surges in search interest for India compared to 2025. Slovakia led with a 148 pc increase, followed by Croatia at 128 pc and Ireland at 88 pc.

It adds that overall origin market trends for Asia travel showed steady demand from France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Spain, alongside rising interest from Central and Eastern Europe, led by Türkiye with a 39 pc increase, Hungary at 22 pc, and the Czech Republic at 16 pc.
“India’s growing popularity among European travelers reflects a broader shift in how international visitors are discovering the country. Beyond iconic landmarks, travellers are increasingly seeking authentic cultural experiences, wellness retreats, culinary journeys, and nature-led escapes. The strong year-on-year search growth from both established and emerging European markets highlights India’s expanding appeal as a diverse and value-driven destination,” says Gaurav Malik, Country Director, Indian Subcontinent & Indian Ocean Islands, Agoda.
