The ITB Berlin (International Travel Trade Show Berlin) is the world’s leading travel trade show which is going to take place in Berlin, Germany from 9th to 13th March, 2016. This year, ITB Berlin is celebrating its 50 years of Excellence or we can say it is going to celebrate its Golden Jubilee. The companies represent at the fair include hotels, tourist boards, tour operators, system providers, airlines and car rental companies. It provides a unique opportunity to look behind the curtain of the global tourism industry.
The ITB covers all aspects of travel and tourism: countries, tour operators, booking system developers, airlines, hotels and other businesses concerned with tourism present their ideas to not only introduce themselves but also to inspire wanderlust. As the ITB Berlin is also conceived as a B2B platform, trade visitors have ample opportunity to expand their contacts and do business. For all others paying a visit to the ITB Berlin, the fair is a great way to discover the whole world within a few hours.
The International Travel Trade Show is a story of success "made in Berlin". From the first beginnings in 1966 with only five participating countries as part of an overseas import trade fair, the ITB has since developed into a worldwide success. The exhibition area has increased from 580 to 160,000 square meters, the number of trade visitors from 250 has increased to 180,000 and now more than 10,000 exhibitors are participating in this fair. Today, ITB Berlin is a centre of attraction for the tourism industry and influences travel industries worldwide.
