EquiLead's upcoming event builds on the effects of past editions, such as ‘She the Change 2023’, which led to changes in workplace policies at more than 15 organisations
Equilead, an initiative, supported by Climate Asia. and Arthan Foundation, committed to accelerating progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG5) by engineering women-led development, is set to host its main event ‘Lead with Equity’ in Delhi on July 29.
In a press statement, EquiLead says that the meeting will bring together philanthropy, policy, and social enterprise experts to discuss the central issue ‘What needs to happen to make gender equity a part of India’s climate and development plans, funding, and governance?’
“Equity cannot be reduced to workshop checklists or representation goals. It has to affect how plans are made, how money is spent, and whose information is used to make climate and development programmes. ‘Lead with Equity’ is not a place to reach an agreement; it is a place to rethink what good leadership looks like in this decade,” says Anchal Kakkar, Co-Founder, EquiLead.
The statement adds that the upcoming event builds on the effects of past editions, such as ‘She the Change 2023’, which led to changes in workplace policies at more than 15 organisations. More than 350 people from throughout the ecosystem came to ‘Lead with Equity 2024’.
According to the statement, Anuradha Das Mathur of Vedica Scholars, Meera Shenoy of Youth4Jobs, Nisha Dhawan of Empower, Nidhi Pundhir of HCL Foundation, Sahil Tandon of Foundation Chanel, Maithilee Shirgaonkar-Jamsandekar of Raintree Foundation, Moutushi Sengupta of Oneworld Colab, and Seema Bhatia Panthaki of AVPN are some of the speakers. During the meeting, there will be strategic roundtables, peer-led keynotes and sector-specific discussions to find models for equity-led growth that can be implemented.
