Embraer, a leading Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, says its order backlog has reached a record USD 29.7 billion in the second quarter of 2025, representing a 40 pc year-over-year increase and its highest level ever recorded.
In a press statement, Embraer says that during the second quarter, the firm delivered 61 aircraft across all business units, marking a 30 pc increase from the same period a year ago and more than doubling deliveries compared to the first quarter of 2025.
The statement adds that the second-quarter results included 19 commercial jets, matching last year’s performance, and 38 executive jet deliveries, a sharp rise of 41 pc year-over-year. Defence deliveries also grew, with four aircraft provided compared to one in the same period of 2024.
According to the statement, commercial aviation recorded an eight-year high backlog of USD 13.1 billion. Notable events included a milestone 1,000 units sold for the E175 model since its 2005 debut and landmark orders such as SkyWest’s purchase of 60 E175 aircraft and Scandinavian Airlines’ (SAS) agreement to buy 45 E195-E2 aircraft, representing SAS’s largest single order in three decades. The company says that the division’s book-to-bill ratio for the past 12 months reached a level of 1.8x, demonstrating strong sales momentum.
Embraer says that executive aviation posted an order backlog of USD 7.4 billion, up 62 pc from the previous year, alongside its significant increase in deliveries. The defence and security segment also showed robust growth, with its backlog doubling to USD 4.3 billion, supported by significant international interest and fresh orders, although some high-profile contracts remain pending finalisation.
The statement adds that Embraer’s Services and Support division continued to thrive, reaching a USD 4.9 billion backlog, a 55 pc year-on-year gain, driven by multiple new maintenance and support contracts.
