Andhra Pradesh as a new state has launched a new and agressive strategy for promoting tourism. In an interview with Neerabh Kumar Prasad, the Principal Secretary for Tourism & Culture at the Spanish tourism fair FITUR in Madrid, he explains that the government has the objective to move from 93 million to 178 million tourists by attracting investments, entrepreneurship and involve the local population in the sector. Amongst the focus spots: the backwaters and the coastal area.
