The World Travel Market (WTM) London has been serving the global travel trade industry for years now, and through its industry networks and responsible travel focused discussions this year, the event aims to provide travel industry professionals with a quality networking opportunity, pathbreaking content and information on rare communities.

The World Travel Market (WTM) London, at Excel London on the Royal Victoria Dock, yet again brings the travel industry together from November 6-8, through its events, content and digital tools, to support the growth of global travel industry by facilitating new connections and lasting business relationships, and by applying global network and expertise to local markets.

Shaping the future of travel, the event offers most effective business to business networking opportunities for the international community of travel professionals and generates over EUR 2.8 billion of business contracts between attendees.

Now in its 37th year, the event brings together around 5,000 exhibiting destinations, technology and private sector companies to find and network with 51,000 travel professionals, key industry buyers, journalists, digital influencers, students and tourism ministers.

Along with forming business networks, WTM also provides a platform to position brand as experts and grow their exposure through exhibitions, via engaging with more than 51,000 international travel professionals, from more than 38 sectors of the travel industry.

This year, over 130 new exhibitors from across the globe have signed up for the event. The newcomers represent every continent and sector of the travel trade, including destinations, technology, hospitality, tour operating, cruising, insurance and car hire.

The fast-growing Asian markets are particularly well represented, with 33 of the new exhibitors from Asia. Major new first-timers from Asia include Hong Kong International Airport and Kazakhstan’s culture ministry.

Kingsbury Colombo from Sri Lanka is another new exhibitor, which is an award-winning luxury hotel in the heart of the country’s capital, with views of the Indian Ocean.

Elsewhere in Asia, there are new exhibitors from Iran, China, Japan, Russia, Vietnam, Nepal, Azerbaijan and Kurdistan.

The burgeoning technology sector is also brimming with new exhibitors, as 38 firms are making their debut at WTM London’s Travel Tech Show.

From human rights to plastic pollution

Contributing towards creating a better travel environment, WTM will witness approximately 28 sessions over three days, covering issues which responsible tourism addresses like carbon, water, over-tourism, engaging travellers, place management, human rights, pollution, slum tourism, travel writing, human wild animal interactions, transforming tourism, accessibility for all and marketing, amongst others.

Additionally, the event will have focused sessions on responsible tourism in China, Bwindi in Uganda and Kumarakom in Kerala, India.
