Kerala Tourism organised a B2B tourism meet, ‘Network Kerala’, in Delhi, today.

The event showcased a range of new experiential tourism products designed to attract both domestic and international travellers during the upcoming festival and winter holiday seasons.

The day-long event brought together tourism sellers from Kerala and buyers from Delhi, who engaged in discussions and business deals to promote the destination in the current season. The session concluded with a cultural programme featuring Kerala’s performing arts traditions.

“I already completed 20 meetings, and of course, the company has been established for many years with a strong product. The people coming here genuinely want to buy something. I believe we are among the better participants here. We see potential for good business, that’s our motivation. That’s the fundamental direction of our work,” S K Rahul from Voyages Kerala tells India & You.

Kerala Tourism’s Tourist Information Officer, S Sreekumar, delivered a presentation showcasing the diverse experiences that make “God’s Own Country” truly unique. He also highlighted the steady growth in tourist arrivals to Kerala, both domestic and international.

“In 2024, Kerala recorded 7,38,374 foreign tourist visits, marking a 13.76 pc increase compared to 2023. As for the domestic segment, the total number of domestic tourist visits in 2024 reached 22,46,989. This represents a tremendous growth from the previous year and reflects a strong rebound in travel and tourism after the Covid-19 pandemic,” Sreekumar tells India & You.

According to a press statement, earlier this month, Kerala also hosted India’s first travel literary festival, Yaanam 2025, in Varkala. The three-day festival attracted travel writers and social media influencers from around the world. The upcoming season also coincides with the sixth edition of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, one of the world’s most prestigious contemporary art festivals, scheduled from December 12 to March 31.

Recently, the state also unveiled a comprehensive ‘Vision Document’ to guide the next phase of tourism development. The plan aims to unlock Kerala’s untapped potential through innovation and investment in wellness, adventure, heritage, cultural and spiritual tourism.

“I feel Kerala is one of the most well-promoted tourism destinations in India. Safety is not an issue here, visitors can truly relax and enjoy themselves. People in Kerala are very professional, and take pride in maintaining high standards in hospitality and service,” Payal Sharma, Head – Sales & Operations, the Travel Club India, a travel agency based in Delhi tells India & You.

Sreekumar also highlighted several new segments and initiatives undertaken by Kerala Tourism, including heli-tourism and caravan tourism.

“We have initiated some new projects, one of them being heli-tourism. Kerala is the only state to announce a dedicated project like this. It is currently in its initial stage, the project has already begun, and some feasibility studies are underway,” says Sreekumar.

“We are also focussing on caravan tourism, which is running successfully. Several caravan parks are under construction, and within the next two to three months, we expect them to be fully operational,” he adds.

The statement adds that the state has also become the first Indian state to adopt a dedicated woman-friendly tourism policy, strengthening its image as a safe and inclusive travel destination. This has led to a rise in women travellers, including solo visitors and all-women groups, many of whose tours are run by women entrepreneurs.

Kerala is also positioning itself as a venue for destination weddings and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions, MICE. In August, the Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) Society, in partnership with the government, hosted a successful Wedding and MICE Conclave in Kochi, attracting international buyers, adds the statement.

According to the organisers, the event facilitated over 6,000 B2B meetings between buyers, sellers, and other key stakeholders from the wedding and MICE.
