In a press statement, Marriott International, a leading hospitality firm, says it registered a landmark year of growth in South Asia in 2024, with a record 43 deals signed, adding 7,000 rooms to its pipeline.

The statement adds that this expansion brings the region’s total pipeline to nearly 20,000 rooms by year-end and the company also reported an 11 pc growth in Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR), driven by increases in Average Daily Rate (ADR) and occupancy, with metropolitan markets like Hyderabad, Gurugram, Bengaluru, and Mumbai leading the charge.

According to the statement, the luxury brands accounted for 75 pc of Marriott’s room signings in South Asia last year, reflecting growing demand for high-end experiences.

The statement adds that the Ritz-Carlton, a luxury hotel chain company, is set to expand with new properties in Jaipur, Udaipur, and Chennai.

Marriott International says that additionally, JW Marriott plans six new properties and that Marriott’s premium segment also saw milestones, including the opening of its 150th property in India, the Katra Marriott Resort and Spa.

The statement says that Marriott’s select service brands contributed significantly to its growth strategy and these brands represented 31 pc of deals signed in 2024, offering affordable yet high-quality hospitality options.

As per the statement, in October 2024, Marriott launched its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad and this initiative leverages local tech talent to enhance Marriott’s global technology infrastructure and next-generation solutions.
