Bus bookings soar 54 pc for I-Day long weekend: AbhiBus
Amidst India’s Independence Day celebrations, AbhiBus has reported a 54 pc year-on-year rise in bus bookings over the long weekend, highlighting the significant uptake by travellers taking advantage of the extended break.
In a press statement, AbhiBus says that several leisure destinations saw significant increases and while demand for Puducherry was up 200 pc, Dehradun bookings rose by 184 pc, Manali by 170 pc and Goa by 44 pc.
The statement adds that long weekend has also seen a rise in female travellers, with bookings by women up by 50 pc. Notably, female solo travellers increased by 37 pc and overall solo travel saw a 38 pc boost, contributing significantly to the surge in travel bookings.
AbhiBus says that spiritual hotspots also saw a notable surge in bookings during the long weekend, with increases of 100-300 pc for key destinations like Ayodhya, Varanasi, Tirupati and Rishikesh.
