Advocacy agency Legal Swan and its brands ‘Posh at Work’ and Respekt will organise Anvay, a global dialogue on harassment and discrimination, set to take place at New Delhi from December 8 to 9.

In a press statement, the Legal Swan says that this dialogue is intended to not only benefit attendees from the corporate sector, students, practitioners and other professionals but also create a large level of impact and awareness otherwise.

The aim of the dialogue is to create awareness around laws, rights, and remedies available, normalise conversations around ‘taboo’ topics, drive towards the inclusion of all irrespective of one’s gender, sexuality, disability, etc., adds the press statement. The session will gauge the performance of Indian laws so far, measures for the future in alignment with practices across sectors globally and solutions for positive change.

It says that the two-day conference will gather expert contemporaries and voices from government, judiciary, United Nations (UN), United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), National Commission for Women (NCW), Harvard University and other delegates from India and abroad. They are to hold conversations and lay out the actionables for safety and integrated progress for all sections of the society with a special focus on women, LGBTQIA+ and persons with disability.

The statement adds that the event will focus on equitable measures against historical and systemic barriers that have hindered marginalised communities’ progress and opportunities to make them more socially empowered.

The press statement adds that panel subjects will include the discussions on the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act of 2019 implementation, involvement of universities in ensuring the safety of young adults, the responsibility of public authorities in addressing bullying, harassment, and discrimination, global initiatives against such issues, a psychological perspective on harassment and discrimination, safety within the metaverse and panels specifically focused on women, persons with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ community.
