FAITH to sign MoU with AWPO for placement of army veterans
Matching tourism workforce needs with AWPO’s database

Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH), is preparing to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO) to facilitate structured employment opportunities for Army veterans in the tourism and hospitality sector.

In a move to bridge workforce gaps in tourism and hospitality, Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH), an umbrella organisation of hospitality industry in India, is set to sign a MoU with the Army Welfare Placement Organisation (AWPO).
In a press statement, FAITH says that the partnership will channel thousands of trained Army veterans into sector jobs, formalising a nationwide placement pipeline.

It adds that the move follows a joint meeting in which AWPO presented detailed data on its national registry of more than 200,000 ex-servicemen, war widows and dependants seeking civilian careers.
According to AWPO, these candidates possess skills spanning logistics, supply chain management, engineering, catering, communications, planning and administration, with qualifications ranging from vocational certifications to doctoral degrees.
The statement adds that Ajay Singh Chauhan, Major General (Retd), MD AWPO, highlighted that its candidates are deployable across industries and organisational levels from junior roles to senior management supported by its network of 18 regional offices and a fully operational placement website.

It adds that Ajeet Bajaj, Vice Chairmam, FAITH confirmed that the MoU will formalise a pathway for veterans to be absorbed into travel, tourism and hospitality businesses, creating a structured channel for recruitment.
He noted that the arrangement will link the industry’s demand for trained and reliable personnel with a steady supply of experienced Army veterans prepared for second-career opportunities.
“It will be a win-win for both Armed Forces veterans and the tourism and hospitality sector. These veterans will gain access to suitable jobs, while the industry will benefit from highly trained and disciplined personnel a quality workforce that the sector greatly needs,” says Bajaj.
