IATO says that all members of the Executive Committee have been elected
Indian Association of Tour Operators, a leading organisation of travel trade, has announced the appointment of Ravi Gosain as the President of IATO for a term of two years.
In a press statement, IATO says that all members of the Executive Committee fielded by his team, have also been elected including Sanjay Razdan as Vice President, Sunil Mishra as Honorary secretary, Deepak Bhatnagar as Honorary Treasurer and Viney Tyagi as Honorary Joint Secretary.
“We are deeply grateful to our members for the faith they have placed in me and my team. It will be our sincere endeavour to support and empower our members to grow their businesses in a dynamic and competitive environment. A key priority for us is to work in close coordination with the government to highlight the urgent need for aggressive international marketing and promotion of India as a travel destination. Foreign tourist arrival numbers have been going down and in that backdrop, we strongly advocate for increased participation in overseas travel marts and roadshows, as well as the reinstatement of familiarisation (FAM) trips for foreign tour operators, travel bloggers and international media,” says Ravi Gosain, President, IATO.

The statement adds that the Executive Committee would also include Rajiv Mehra, who will hold the designation of Immediate Past President and Harish Mathur, Manoj Kumar Matta, Rishi Kapoor, Sejoe Jose, Tony Marwah, Ashok Dhoot, P Vijayasarathy and Wasim Shaikh.
“We will also renew our efforts to bring back the Marketing Development Assistance (MDA) scheme, which has been on hold for over five years. The revival of this scheme is critical to enable small and medium-sized tour operators to market themselves abroad, thereby boosting inbound tourism to India. Our vision is clear, to build a stronger, more inclusive IATO that champions the interests of our members and positions India as a leading global travel destination,” adds Gosain.
