Embraer records over 2,000 business jet deliveries
Praetor 500 world’s fastest, midsize jet with longest range
Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has achieved a significant milestone with the delivery of its 2,000th business jet, a Praetor 500, highlighting the company’s continued growth and strong presence in the global executive aviation market.
Embraer, a leading Brazilian aerospace and defence company, has announced that it has recorded its 2,000th business jet delivery. The aircraft, a Praetor 500 was handed over to a private corporate flight department during a special event at Embraer’s Global Customer Centre in Melbourne, Florida.
According to a press statement, the Praetor 500 is known as the most advanced and innovative jet in its class. It leads the way in terms of range, speed, and performance. It is the fastest and longest-flying midsize jet, capable of nonstop flights across North America, for example, from Miami to Seattle or Los Angeles to New York. With four passengers on board, it can fly up to 3,340 nautical miles or 6,186 km without stopping, meeting NBAA IFR reserve requirements.
“Delivering our 2,000th business jet is more than just a milestone number. It is a powerful reflection of the strength of our product portfolio, our unwavering commitment to our customers and the dedication of our employees who take pride in building every aircraft. This milestone cements Embraer’s position as a global leader in business aviation and serves as a testament to the popularity of our Praetor family of jets, especially among major corporate flight departments. Both the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 have become aircraft of choice for their disruptive technology and unmatched performance, demonstrating the confidence these corporations place in Embraer,” says Michael Amalfitano, President and CEO, Embraer Executive Jets.
The statement adds that this milestone not only marks Embraer’s steady growth but also highlights the increasing popularity of the Praetor 500 and its larger sibling, the Praetor 600. These jets are especially valued by corporate flight departments for their unique mix of features. They include advanced technology usually found in larger aircraft, such as full fly-by-wire systems and active turbulence reduction, while also being able to take off and land on shorter runways like smaller jets. Thanks to their impressive range, both jets give passengers access to more destinations without sacrificing comfort or performance.
According to the statement, since delivering its first business jet in 2002, Embraer’s executive aviation division has grown steadily, with an average annual growth rate of 14 pc. In 2024, nearly one out of every three small and midsize business jets delivered worldwide was either a Phenom or Praetor made by Embraer.
