The launch comes amid continued concerns over congestion and air pollution in Delhi, where vehicular emissions remain one of the major contributors to deteriorating air quality.

The airport was selected for the launch because of its high passenger movement and round-the-clock transport demand. The government is expected to assess the response to the service before considering similar models in other parts of the city, says the statement.
