Summit Hotels & Resorts is expanding its presence across leisure, spiritual and emerging tourism destinations in India
Recording a 14 pc year-on-year growth in revenue during the first half of FY 2026-27, Summit Hotels & Resorts has reported a 162 pc increase in net operating profit and a 41 pc rise in gross operating profit, with average room rates climbing 26 pc despite the seasonal monsoon slowdown.

Summit Hotels & Resorts says the growth in operating profitability, significantly higher than revenue growth, reflects improved operating margins, supported by stronger revenue management, pricing strategies, operational efficiencies and cost discipline across its portfolio.

“Our first-half performance demonstrates the progress we have made in strengthening the fundamentals of our business. Achieving 162 pc growth in net operating profit against 14 pc revenue growth, particularly during a period that includes the monsoon off-season, reflects better revenue management, operating efficiencies and the commitment of our teams,” says Sumit Mitruka, Founder & CEO, Summit Hotels & Resorts.
Looking ahead, the company expects stronger business performance in the second half of FY 2026-27 (October 2026-March 2027), supported by the peak leisure travel season, contributions from newly opened hotels and expansion across different travel segments.
The company is expanding its presence across leisure, spiritual and emerging tourism destinations through three hospitality collections. Signature focusses on premium destination-led stays, off beat targets lesser-explored leisure destinations, while Mandir caters to spiritual and pilgrimage tourism.
The expansion includes upcoming properties in Varanasi, Salasar and Rishikesh, alongside new developments in the Eastern Himalayan region. Summit says these additions are expected to broaden its geographical reach and diversify its demand base beyond established leisure markets.
